Company Introduction

Neuralink Corporation was founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and is headquartered in Fremont, California. The company is developing implantable brain-computer interface (BCI) devices that create a direct communication pathway between the human brain and external computers. Neuralink's stated long-term mission is to address brain and spinal cord injuries, restore lost capabilities to people with neurological conditions, and ultimately achieve a symbiotic relationship between humans and artificial intelligence.

The company's core product — the N1 implant, branded commercially as "Telepathy"  is a small, cosmetically invisible device surgically embedded in the skull that reads neural activity through 1,024 ultra-thin electrode threads inserted into the brain's motor cortex. The device communicates wirelessly with external devices, enabling paralyzed individuals to control computers, smartphones, and other digital interfaces using only their thoughts.

Neuralink operates at the frontier of neurotechnology — a field that intersects neuroscience, materials science, robotics, and software engineering. The company has attracted significant attention both for its technical ambitions and for the ethical, regulatory, and scientific questions its work raises. While still in early-stage clinical trials, Neuralink has already demonstrated results in human patients that have generated considerable interest from the medical, investment, and technology communities.
